About Ali

I’m Ali, an artist and an acupuncturist—a practitioner of line and of needle. My work lives at the intersection of art and healing—two disciplines that, for me, have always been connected. I’ve spent years studying the body, both as a subject to be drawn and as a landscape to be listened to. Through brushstrokes and paint, I learned to see deeply; through needles and pulse-taking, I learned to listen.

My journey began with a fascination for form, color, and expression—especially the way colors transform in relationship to one another, how a single hue can become warm, cool, or luminous depending on its surroundings. This sensitivity to color and contrast also informs my clinical work, where I’ve learned to see the body’s imbalances not just as problems to be fixed, but as relationships to be harmonized.

I am a licensed acupuncturist and a dedicated educator. I hold a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and I am a faculty member at Lotus Professional College, where I teach and mentor aspiring practitioners. Whether in the classroom or the clinic, I am passionate about sharing the principles of Chinese medicine—helping students and the public alike understand this ancient, yet ever-relevant, system of care.

Clinically, my focus is on supporting individuals through life’s transitions—chronic pain, hormonal changes, emotional wellbeing, conception, birth, and end-of-life care. I have experience providing acupuncture in both private, one-on-one sessions and community acupuncture settings—two different models of care that offer unique benefits. Private sessions can offer focused, personalized treatment and deeper conversation. In community acupuncture, I see the power of collective healing, where multiple people receive care together, making acupuncture more accessible and creating a shared sense of healing space.

I have a special interest in how acupuncture can complement other forms of healthcare, providing relief and resilience for those navigating chronic conditions, cancer treatment, or recovery.

On Line and Needle, you’ll find the threads that connect my two worlds—artistic explorations, reflections on Chinese medicine, and thoughts on the human experience as I’ve witnessed it. Whether you’re here because you’re curious about acupuncture, interested in my art, or simply drawn to the overlap, I hope you find something that resonates.

Welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.
